MALONE -- Dental records confirmed the remains found in a Malone sand pit last month are those of Nathalie Fournier, who disappeared Oct. 14, 2004.

A warrant was issued for Adam J. Morris, 30, of 362 Badore Road, by the Province of Quebec, charging him with one count of second-degree murder.

Morris is in Franklin County Jail where he is being held without bail on charges related to child pornography.

Investigators with the State Police Computer Crimes Unit allegedly intercepted images of children performing sexual acts from Morris's home computer last month.

Morris was charged by State Police with promoting a sexual performance by a child.

While being questioned about the images on Sept. 24 in the Malone barracks, he was recognized by another law-enforcement officer as a suspect from Fournier's 2004 disappearance.

Morris allegedly confessed to killing her in Quebec then bringing her body across the border and dumping it in a sand pit off Denio Road not far from the home he shared with his parents.

Morris reportedly told American and Canadian investigators he frequented the strip club where the 28-year-old St. Catherine's woman was a nude dancer.

She was last seen about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 14, 2004, at La Place A Lorenzo on Highway 15 near Saint-Mathieu de La Prairie with a Caucasian man as she climbed into a tanker truck headed for the United States.

The search for her remains lasted several days because the owner of the Denio Road property had inadvertently dumped fill in the area where Morris allegedly told investigators to look.

Human remains and clothing were discovered and sent to Canada for analysis, and dental records were used to confirm her identity.

Filing the paperwork that will eventually send him to Canada for prosecution has begun, said County District Attorney Derek Champagne.

Champagne, who is also a special assistant with the U.S. Attorney's Office, has been in contact with that agency to decide if Morris will face state- or federal-level child-porn charges.

At the same time, the Canadian government in Ottawa will file an application for extradition with the American government in Washington, D.C., to send Morris to Quebec for trial.
