PLATTSBURGH -- The Northeastern Regional Information Center plans to relocate to recently renovated office space in Air Industrial Park.

In a news release, The Development Corp. announced the Information Center has signed a five-year lease that begins Sept. 1 for slightly more than 3,300 square feet of office space in Suite 201 at 14 Area Development Drive.

It is a division of BOCES that supplies school systems and colleges with educational technology and training services. Most of its business covers elementary through high-school systems.

"Having the ability to provide a state of the art training center with meeting rooms to better serve our school districts is one of the main advantages of moving to this new facility," said Jim Jarrard, assistant director of the Information Center.

The center employs almost 50 people in the North Country. Plans call for a move from its present location on Healey Avenue in Plattsburgh sometime in early fall.

The move brings the Information Center next door to the Champlain Valley Education Services/BOCES training center, also at 14 Area Development Drive. It is also just across Military Turnpike from the CVES/BOCES campus.

The center delivers many of its services in cooperation with CVES.

The Development Corporation contracted with Conroy and Conroy to perform the renovations.
