HeartSmart series begins July 2

PLATTSBURGH -- The HeartSmart for Kids program from CVPH and the Town of Plattsburgh are again sponsoring the Fun Run/Walk series at the Cadyville Recreation Park. The program seven-week program will get under way Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The fun runs are set up for age groups and distances as follows: Under 4- 1/4 mile run/walk, ages 4-6- 1/2 mile run/walk, ages 7-10 and ages 11-14- 1 mile run/walk and there is an Open Division- 5K run.

Participants who attend four out of seven fun runs will receive a free t-shirt.

B'town looking for gymnastics coach

Pony girls' softball tournament slated

PERU -- A Pony Girls softball tournament will be held July 19-20 with county rules applying and the field limited to eight teams. Entry fee is $75.

Fast-pitch tourney meeting Wednesday

AUSABLE FORKS -- The committee for the 46th-annual AuSable Forks Fast Pitch Tournament will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Billy Mitchell Memorial Field.

ADK chapter plans Pok-O trail work

PLATTSBURGH -- The Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club will do trail work on the front side of Pok-o-Moonshine Mountain Saturday and the public is invited to assist. The group will meet at 9 a.m. at the campground. Bring work gloves.
