No trash pickup by city on holiday

PLATTSBURGH -- There will be no garbage collections by the City Public Works Department throughout the city on the Fourth of July.

Friday's collection will be done on Thursday. The rest of the week will be on its regular schedule.

CCC offices to close for holiday

PLATTSBURGH -- Clinton Community College will be closed on Friday for the Fourth of July holiday.

The college offices will reopen on Monday and resume regular summer office hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays.

Meadowbrook makes donation to CCC

PLATTSBURGH -- Meadowbrook Healthcare has presented a $1,000 gift to the Clinton Community College Foundation.

The funds will be applied to the tuition of the 2008-09 recipient of the Meadowbrook Healthcare Nursing Scholarship.

This will be the fifth time CCC is able to offer the Meadowbrook-supported scholarship.

Meadowbrook Community Relations Coordinator Vicki Marking presented the check to Steven Frederick, dean of development and alumni affairs; Dr. Kathleen Kasprzak, director of nursing and allied health; and Dr. Frederick Woodward, interim president.

The Meadowbrook Healthcare Nursing Scholarship covers nearly two-thirds of the entire cost of a semester at Clinton Community College.
