FELONY ARRESTs
FORT COVINGTON — A teenager faces a felony charge in connection with the alleged sale of marijuana to a younger teenager.

Michael J. Charlebois, 18, of Fort Covington was arrested at the Malone State Police Station at 12:20 p.m. Saturday. He was charged with second-degree criminal sale of marijuana, a felony, and acting in a manner that could injure a child under 17, a misdemeanor.

Charlebois was arraigned in Fort Covington Town Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail to reappear at a later date.

The arrest stems from the sale of more than four ounces of marijuana to a 15-year-old male from Fort Covington, Malone-based State Police reported. The younger male was arrested at the State Police Station on June 1 and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, more than two ounces, a misdemeanor.

The youth was given an appearance ticket to appear in Franklin County Court before Judge Robert Main Jr.

PLATTSBURGH — A local woman has been arrested on charges of welfare fraud of up to $4,752.

Rosa M. Rosa, 36, of Plattsburgh was arrested Saturday by the Clinton County Sheriff's Office, working in conjunction with the Clinton County Department of Social Services Fraud Investigation Unit.

She was charged with felony third-degree welfare fraud and felony first-degree offering a false instrument for filing.

The Fraud Investigation Unit of Social Services detected the alleged larceny, which investigators believe occurred April 2007 to February 2008, a news release from the Sheriff's Department said.

She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to court Monday.

Personal-Injury Accident
CHESTERFIELD — Visitors from Canada were injured early Monday morning when their car struck a deer, rolled over two times and finally came to rest off the road.

Sarah Bacher-Gratton, 19, of Mirabel, Quebec, had been driving a vehicle with three passengers around 12:21 a.m.

They were traveling north on Interstate 87 near Chesterfield when the deer entered the roadway.

After striking the animal, the vehicle exited the roadway to the west, rolled twice and finally came to rest on its tires in the median.

Bacher-Gratton complained of head pain.

Two of her passengers, Camil Aubin Belanger and Anne-Marie Coutu, both 18, complained of pain to the entire body and to the head, respectively.

They were transported to CVPH Medical Center, where they were later treated and released.

No tickets have been issued at this time.

PLATTSBURGH — A pedestrian remains in critical but stable condition Monday night after he was run over by a backing pickup truck Saturday night.

Ronald Boulrice, 61, of Plattsburgh is being treated at CVPH Medical Center for chest trauma.

John Seiden, 54, of Plattsburgh allegedly backed up over the man around 10:45 p.m.
