Crown Point pitchers hurl no-hitter
CROWN POINT -- Jonalee Ross and Chelsea DuShane combined on a no-hitter Monday as Crown Point defeated Westport 12-1 in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference softball.
Ross, who pitched a no-hitter against Schroon Lake on opening day, struck out seven batters over five innings before giving way to DuShane, who struck out all six batters she faced.
Trish Lacey singled and scored three runs for the Panthers (8-4, 6-1), while Paige Dolback added a two-run single.
Kalika Hopkins drove in the Eagles lone run.

CHAZY -- Elizabethtown-Lewis scored a combined 10 runs in the final two innings, and the Lions went on for a 12-6 win over Chazy in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference softball action.
Riley Diemand was the winning pitcher and helped her cause at the plate with three hits, including a double.
Stephanie Hosler played a strong game defensively for the Eagles at second base.
