AUSABLE FORKS -- It was a big day Monday for the AuSable Valley golf team.
Not only did the Patriots record a 5-1 victory over Ticonderoga in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference play, one of AuSable Valley's extras -- Jamie LaFountain -- posted a hole-in-one.
LaFountain, a freshman, aced the par-three, 167-yard ninth hole at the AuSable Valley Golf Club, using a six-iron. It was LaFountain's first hole-in-one.
Witnesses to the ace were Patrick Boynton, AuSable Valley coach Chris Dubay and Ticonderoga coach John Dreimiller.
In the regular match, Justin Hart and Jeremy Tennian each carded a 43 to lead the Patriots.
Sean Pulsifer and Zach Snow each added a 44 for AuSable Valley,
The medalist on the day was Ticonderoga's Matt Bussey, who shot a 42 at No. 1 and gave the Sentinels the lone win.

SARANAC LAKE -- Freshman Michael Phelan had the low score of the day with a three-over 39 as the Red Storm blanked Northeastern Clinton at the Saranac Lake Golf Club.
Taras Gach (40), Pat McHugh (40), Casey McHugh (41), Cody Ecret (43) and Nick McGrath (44) also won their matches for the unbeaten Red Storm (5-0).
Stephen Young's 43 in the No. 1 match was low score for the Cougars, who fell to 2-3.

PERU -- Tyler Hoey and Keegan O'Hara each shot a 44 at Adirondack Golf & Country Club to lead the Indians (3-0) past the Chiefs.
Hoey, O'Hara, Ryan Miller and Tyler Fleming won their matches for Peru.
Saranac's Austin Pivetta was medalist on the day with a 41 and picked up the Chiefs' lone victory on the day.

PORT HENRY -- Mike Clark shot a one-over 33 in the No. 3 match to help the Blue Bombers defeat the Vikings at the Moriah Country Club.
Willie Kane (39), Will Tennant (38) and Brady Hayes (51) also picked up a point for Lake Placid.
Phil Belzar was the Vikings' lone winner, defeating Christian Blazer in the No. 1 match, 38-39.
Moriah's Landon Cross and Lake Placid's Aimee Caligiore halved at 42.

Ryan Lee's 45 was a day's best, but was the only win for the Eagles.
