PERU — Ethan Brown’s first career varsity goal proved to be an important one.
Brown’s goal at the 22:02 mark of the second half was the game-winner as Peru knocked off Franklin Academy, 2-1, Wednesday in nonleague boys’ soccer action.

Jacob Dick, who assisted on Brown’s goal, got the scoring started when he connected at the 8:59 mark of the first half. Jonathan Plessis-Belair picked up the assist.
The Huskies tied the game 14 minutes into the second half when Isai Paredones connected on an unassisted goal.
Guy Loveless turned away 17 shots in net for the Indians to capture the win. Austin Lamay made 11 saves for Franklin Academy.

WILLSBORO — Zach Pierson and Nate Yeager scored second-half goals to give the Warriors their nonleague victory.
Lucas Cross recorded the shutout in net with six saves and Colton Venner made 11 stops for Keene.
“Nick Arnold and Seth Swires played a nice midfield game for us,” Willsboro coach Andrew Lee said. “Lucas Cross recorded his first varsity shutout and our defense played well together.
“Justin Haverlick and Gabe Warner played well for Keene and Colton Venner made some nice saves in both halves.”

WILLSBORO — Hanna Whitney scored two goals, the last coming with 50 seconds left in regulation, to give Keene a nonleague win.
Trina Bigelow put the Warriors in front at 32:00 of the first half and it remained that way until Whitney tied it with 15 minutes left in the second half.
