Bombers, Storm play to two-all tie in CVAC hockey

“It was a back-and-forth game in the first period,” said NCCS coach Rob Francis. “But, for whatever reason, we didn’t come out with enough emotion in the second.

“They took advantage of their opportunities. We got two of the goals back in the third, but it was too little, too late. We had dug too big a hole for ourselves.”

St. Lawrence 7, Franklin Academy 3

MALONE — Kody Kocsis had two goals and an assist as the Larries skated past the Huskies in Northern Athletic Conference action.

Kocsis and Nate Stickney put St. Lawrence (8-1) ahead 2-0 in the first period, and then both scored again in the second as the Larries totaled four goals in the period. Eric Lynch, Blake Baldwin and Lucas Arquiett also tallied in the game. Nate McLaughlin made 16 saves in the St. Lawrence nets.

“We took too many penalties, No. 1. And we failed to get the puck in deep when we needed to,” coach Chuck Dievendorf said. “St. Lawrence moves the puck very well.”

Trevor Henderson, Tanner Studlack and Jake Henning accounted for the Huskies’ (5-4-1) goals. Joey Brown had 35 saves.
