Makenzie Winslow nets three goals

SCHROON LAKE — Makenzie Winslow scored all three goals in Minerva/Newcomb’s 3-0 win over Schroon Lake in a girls’ Northern Soccer League game Tuesday. The goal scorer was incorrectly reported to the Press-Republican.

AC North offering open ice for youth

PLATTSBURGH — There will be open ice for any skater with a birth year of 2001 or 2002, starting Sept. 21 at the Ameri-Can North Sports Center from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The skate will run at the same time every Saturday through the end of October, and the cost will be $10 per skater each week. All players will need to bring a white or dark colored jersey. Any questions, contact Eric Fessette at 726-0645 or email Gavi723@yahoo.com.

Champlain Cup set for Sept. 28 at The Barracks Golf Course

PLATTSBURGH — The Barracks Golf Course will host The Champlain Cup, the annual competition with the North Country Golf Club, on Sept. 28. Members are asked to sign up at their respective pro shops.

Adirondack Bring A Buddy tourney tees off Sunday

PERU — Thirteen four-person teams will tee off Sunday in the annual Bring a Buddy Tournament at Adirondack Golf & Country Club. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., with a team putting contest also starting at 7:30 a.m. A shotgun start will follow at 8 a.m.

A modified Oldsmobile system will be used for handicapping teams in the scramble. Prizes will be awarded following an Italian lunch for lowest net teams, putting contest, closest to the pin for guests on all par-threes and closest to the line for guests on the 10th hole.
