NORTH HUDSON — A Peru man who was in a motorcycle crash June 24 is in critical condition at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt.
Chad E. Allen, 25, told police he was traveling northeast on Tracy Road in the Town of North Hudson when he lost control of the motorcycle upon entering a curve in the road, Ray Brook-based State Police said.
The vehicle skidded off the roadway into a sandy area and Allen was ejected from the motorcycle and struck a tree, police said.
The motorcycle continued another 29 feet and came to rest in a wooded area, police said.
Allen was taken by Schroon Lake EMS to Elizabethtown Community Hospital, police said.
He sustained serious injuries and was later transferred to Fletcher Allen Health Care.
Allen was ticketed for speed not reasonable and prudent and driving across hazard markings.
MALONE — A Malone man was charged Wednesday with robbery and three misdemeanors after he allegedly took money from an acquaintance.
On Monday, Robert Mulverhill Jr., 26, was drinking alcohol in an Academy Street apartment in the Village of Malone when he allegedly assaulted and forcibly took money from another man in the apartment, according to the Malone Village Police Department.
During the struggle, Mulverhill allegedly caused damage to the other man’s glasses, police said.
Mulverhill was charged with second-degree robbery, a felony; third-degree assault, a misdemeanor; criminal obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor; and fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in Malone Town Court and sent to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
PLATTSBURGH — A Chazy man was arrested Tuesday on a warrant issued out of Rhode Island.
It is alleged that Joseph M. Castellani, 22, failed to appear in a Rhode Island court to answer to a charge of third-degree sexual assault, a felony, according to a news release from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.
Castellani was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and sent to Clinton County Jail where he is awaiting an extradition hearing in Clinton County Court.
LAKE PLACID — A Texas man was charged with felony drunken driving early Tuesday morning.
Jeffery S. Mitchell, 34, of Arlington, Texas, was pulled over by Lake Placid Police for a traffic violation when it was discovered that he was intoxicated, the Lake Placid Police Department said in a news release.
Further investigation revealed Mitchell had been convicted of driving while intoxicated within the last 10 years, police said.
Mitchell was arrested at 3:35 a.m. and was charged with felony DWI, a felony, and four traffic infractions: failure to keep right, improper left turn, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and inadequate mirrors.
Mitchell was arraigned in Lake Placid Village Court and sent to Essex County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
MALONE — A Malone man was charged June 27 with criminal possession of a weapon.
After receiving a noise complaint, Malone Village Police officers discovered that David Dodge, 38, of Malone was allegedly making homemade bombs with toilet cleaner, spray aerosol and aluminum foil, according to the Malone Village Police Department.
Dodge was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony.
He was arraigned in Malone Town Court and sent to Franklin County Jail, police said.
Dodge has since been released, police said.
