MORRISONVILLE — Hot-dog lovers can enter the Michigan Eating Contest at the Clinton County Fair today — or at least watch others consuming the North Country specialty in hopes of winning some cash.
And up-and-coming country singer Greg Bates performs tonight.
Bates, 25, hit it big with his first debut single, “Did it for the Girl,” which ranked as a Top 5 hit. The Nashville native has performed on the same stage as country legends Willie Nelson, Alabama and Alan Jackson.
He takes the stage at the fairgrounds here at 8 p.m., with tickets set at $10 for grandstand seating and $15 for track seating (plus the gate admission of $8 for ages 13 and older).
Ages 12 and younger get into the fair for free, and tonight is Evening Madness, when wristbands priced at $18 cover carnival rides from 7 until the fair shuts down for the night.
Daily, visit the 4-H and FFA, cattle, horse and domestic and fine-arts exhibits daily; vendor buildings are open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the fair, which continues through Sunday. Parking is free.
