FELONY ARRESTS

MALONE — A Malone man was arrested for alleged possession and sale of a controlled substance.

According to Malone Village Police, Corey R. Rockhill, 36, of Malone, was arrested Wednesday and charged with fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The arrest stemmed from an earlier investigation.

Rockhill was arraigned in the Town of Malone Court by Judge Frederick Boardway and remanded to Franklin County Jail on $15,000 bail, $30,000 bond.

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was arrested for alleged unemployment fraud.

According to Plattsburgh City Police, Daniel J. Williams, 44, of Plattsburgh, was mentioned in a complaint from the New York state Department of Labor regarding falsely collected unemployment checks.

Williams was arrested at 8:25 a.m., Wednesday, at the Plattsburgh station and charged with third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony, and offering a false instrument, a class E felony.

Williams was arraigned at Plattsburgh City Court before City Judge Mark Rogers where he was released pending a future court date.

ROUSES POINT — A Rouses Point man was arrested after allegedly using a gun to threaten an individual, according to State Police Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman.

Chazy-based State Police arrested David A. Sorrell, 34, of Rouses Point, at 11 p.m., Oct. 13, for displaying and threatening the complainant with a long gun. He was charged with second-degree menacing and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon due to having 10 misdemeanor convictions on his criminal record.

Sorrell was arraigned in the Village of Rouses Point Court before Village Justice John Labonte and committed to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. Sorrell was set to reappear in the Village of Rouses Point Court on Oct. 22.

STRUCTURE FIRE

A fire was reported at 3:44 p.m. Wednesday on 315 Canning Road, Saranac, according to Clinton County Dispatch.
