Slate of candidates named

MALONE — Four legislator seats, the position of county clerk and three races for town supervisor highlight the November 2013 elections in Franklin County.

Some former officials will be back in the mix after absences from the political arena, including Gerald Gillmett, a former county legislator who is running for a two-year unexpired seat on the Harrietstown Town Council, and Mary Ellen Keith, the longtime town supervisor in the Town of Franklin, who is seeking a Town Council position there. 

Town-supervisor races are set in Burke, Moira and Tupper Lake; the only village with elections this year is Tupper Lake.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, and here are the candidates for office:

COUNTY-WIDE RACES

District attorney (four-year term): Derek Champagne (R).

County treasurer (four-year term): Bryon Varin (D).

County clerk (four-year term): Kip Cassavaw (D); Cindy Gale (R).

County coroner (four-year term; vote for two): Martin Hughes II (R); Bert Wilcox (R).

Legislature District 1 (three-year term): Guy “Tim” Smith (D).

Legislature District 2 (three-year term): Billy Jones (D).

Legislature District 3 (three-year term): Gordon Crossman (D); Mark Besio (R).

Legislature District 4 (three-year term): Marc “Tim” Lashomb (R); Carl Sherwin (D).

Legislature District 5 (three-year term): Sue Robideau (R); Don Dabiew (D).

Legislature District 6 (three-year term): Paul Maroun (R).

Legislature District 7 (three-year term): Edwin Randig (R); Barbara Rice (D); Curtis Reynolds (Independence Party).

BANGOR

Town supervisor (two-year term): Gary Monica (D, R).

Town clerk (two-year term): Linda Shova (D, R).

Town Council (four-year term; vote for two): Tim Tallman (R, Action Party); Gerald Perry (D).

Town Council (two-year unexpired term): Joey St. Mary (D).

Tax collector (two-year term): Sharon Debyah (D, R).

Highway superintendent (two-year term): Jamie St. Hilaire (D, R).

BELLMONT

Town Council (four-year term; vote for two): Greg Langdon (Sunrise Party); Wayne Rogers (R, Sunrise Party).
