SARANAC — Police say Terry V. Mitchell failed to stop at the intersection of Duquette Road and Route 3 just west of Cadyville at about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, and his car collided with one driven northeast on Route 3 by Pauline M. Claymore, 80, of Saranac.

Mitchell, 57, of Redford was ejected from his car after it overturned.

He and Claymore were both taken by ambulance to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, where they were both in stable condition on Wednesday.

Mitchell was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign and for not wearing a seat belt. The investigation was continuing, State Police said, and more tickets may be issued.
