MOIRA — Several fire departments responded to a reported structure fire at 608 Route 95 in Moira on Wednesday night.
The fire was extinguished about an hour after area departments were called to the building, according to Franklin County Dispatch.
Fire Departments responded from Brushton, Moira, Bombay, Bangor, Dickinson and St. Regis Falls.
The property is owned by John and Donna DeBeer of Keeseville, according to the Franklin County Real Property Office’s online database.
The entire property is assessed at $227,100, according to the database, and is listed as being a former dairy farm.
HOGANSBURG — A Constable man was charged Saturday with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving while ability impaired.
Shortly before 11:55 p.m., St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police stopped a vehicle driven by Jerimiah J. Fountain, 34, for driving 52 mph in a 35 mph zone on Cook Road in Hogansburg, according to a news release from the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe.
Fountain was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony; driving while ability impaired by alcohol, a misdemeanor; speeding, an infraction; and possession of a controlled substance in non-original container, a violation, among other charges.
Fountain was released on appearance tickets and set to appear in Bombay Town Court on Dec. 3, the release said.
