Plattsburgh-based State Police said Dana Marie MacDougal, 30, was driving on Route 9 at about 3:30 p.m. when she swerved off the road to avoid hitting other vehicles.
MacDougal was later taken to CVPH Medical Center, where she was treated and released, hospital officials said Tuesday.
PLATTSBURGH — A former SUNY Plattsburgh student was arrested Tuesday for allegedly hitting a man in the head with a beer bottle.
The incident happened near Woodstock bar on Margaret Street in the City of Plattsburgh at about 2 a.m. Oct. 14, 2012, Plattsburgh City Police Lt. Scott Beebie said.
A city police officer was flagged down by the victim, who was bleeding from his head and right ear area, Beebie said.
He told officers he was struck in the head with a beer bottle during an altercation with another man.
Police identified Michael Melville Jr., 21, of Troy as a suspect, obtained a warrant for his arrest and contacted the City of Troy Police Department for assistance, as Melville had returned to Troy for winter break, Beebie said.
Melville turned himself in to Troy police and he was retrieved by Plattsburgh City Police, Beebie said.
Melville was charged with second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
Melville was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court Wednesday morning and taken to Clinton County Jail.
PLATTSBURGH — A West Chazy woman was arrested Monday after she allegedly drove into a ditch while under the influence of drugs and with a child in her vehicle.
Plattsburgh-based State Police said troopers were patrolling Interstate 87 at about 10 a.m. when they spotted Angie L. Cruz’s vehicle off the road.
Police said Cruz, 36, is believed to have been under the influence of an unspecified narcotic and marijuana and was subsequently arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs.
