FELONY ARRESTS

SARANAC LAKE — A Saranac Lake man was charged Wednesday with violating the conditions of his court sentence.

Mouhamed Mbaye, 21, originally from New York City, was sentenced on April 1 to criminal court supervision for five years for a conviction of second-degree attempted robbery, a felony, Saranac Lake Police said in a news release.

Mbaye allegedly violated a condition of the sentence and an arrest warrant was issued for him by Franklin County Court Judge Robert Main Jr., police said.

Mbaye was sent to the Franklin County Jail to await arraignment in Franklin County Court.

PLATTSBURGH — An inmate at the Clinton County Jail was charged Tuesday with possession of prison contraband.

Jodi H. Rhodes, 36, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance while incarcerated at the County Jail, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Her arrest was the result of an investigation by the department, the release said.

Rhodes was charged with first-degree criminal possession of prison contraband, a felony; second-degree criminal possession of prison contraband, a misdemeanor; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and possessing a controlled substance not in its original container, a violation.

She was arraigned in Schuyler Falls Town Court and was sent back to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

Rhodes is scheduled to appear in Plattsburgh Town Court at a later date to face the charges, the Sheriff’s Department said.

PLATTSBURGH — A Peru man was charged Monday with a felony violation of the the state Sex Offender Registration Act.

Hagen D. Dominie, 19, accessed an online social media website for more than 10 days and failed to register that information with the proper authorities, as required by law, according to a news release from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.

Dominie is a level 2 sex offender, according to the release.

Additional charges may be pending, the Sheriff’s Department said.

Dominie was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and was sent to the Clinton County Jail without bail.

He is scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged Sunday with strangulation following a domestic incident.

Gary Tunnell, 45, had a fight with his girlfriend in which he placed her in a headlock until she passed out, Plattsburgh City Police said.

A 10-year-old child witnessed the incident, police said.

Tunnell was arrested at 11:20 p.m. on South Catherine Street in the City of Plattsburgh, according to a City Police blotter entry.

He was charged with second-degree strangulation with obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Tunnell was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court and an order of protection was issued, police said.

He was remanded to the Clinton County Jail.

BOMBAY — A Hogansburg man was charged Saturday with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Following a traffic stop at about 1 a.m. by St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police, Robert J. Smoke, 47, was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony; aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, according to a news release from the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe.

Smoke was cited for failure to keep right following a traffic stop.

Police allege that Smoke’s blood-alcohol content was 0.19 percent, according to the release.

Smoke was found to have three bench warrants for his arrest, police said.

He was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and sent to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENTS

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was injured Tuesday when a car struck his bicycle, police said.

Dustin Anderson, 26, was traveling north on South Catherine Street in the City of Plattsburgh when he attempted to make a left-hand turn into the Dollar General parking lot, police said.

George Donah, 68, of Plattsburgh was driving the second vehicle and was attempting to leave the Dollar General parking lot to drive south on South Catherine Street when the two vehicles collided, police said.

It was determined that Anderson was at fault for the accident because he was riding on the sidewalk on the wrong side of the road, Plattsburgh City Police said.

Anderson complained of pain to his lower leg, knee and foot and was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, police said.

Donah and his passengers, Chris Hall, 33, of Schroon Lake and John See, 41, of Plattsburgh, were all uninjured, police said.
