— KEESEVILLE ? James C. Blaise, 79, of Liberty Street, Keeseville, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was born in Keeseville, Jan. 11, 1934, the son of George and Edith (Doty) Blaise. Jim grew up in Keeseville, and graduated from Keeseville Central School. He owned and operated James C. Blaise Land Surveyor in Keeseville for many years.
Jim was very active in the community. He was the former Lt. Governor of the Adirondack Division of Kiwanis, past president of the Keeseville Kiwanis, member of the Glee Club, Peru/Keeseville Ecumenical Choir, longtime member of the Keeseville United Methodist Church, past treasurer of the AuSable Republican Party, past Area 7 Legislator, and member of the Clinton County Health Board.
He enjoyed playing the piano, crossword puzzles, and watching all types of sporting events. He was especially fond of the Jets and the Dodgers.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Mike Myatt of Keeseville; grandchildren, Nicole and Jim Peluso, Carie Mattox and companion Jason Burdo, Mackenzie Blaise Rennie, and Morgan Rennie; great-grandson, Braden Peluso; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Carolyn Blaise of LaSalle, Quebec; brothers-in-law, Joe Busha of Keeseville, Gilbert King of Toronto, Canada, Harry King of St. Regis, Quebec; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Oakes of St. Regis, Quebec, and Louise Lamica of Malone; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Sarah A. Blaise, June 20, 2006; daughter, Michelle K. Blaise, November 15, 2008; and son-in-law, Robert M. Rennie, August 26, 2012.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, October 25, 2013 from 10 to 11 AM at the Keeseville United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow at 11 at the Church with Rev. Edie A. Poland, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Keeseville.
