TO THE EDITOR: To the man who hurt the cats: I understand that you lost things in your life, but now you killed all those little helpless animals and now you're saying "I should've done this." Well, dammit, it's too late. You should and I hope you will pay for what you have done and I hope the next time you drink or eat you get sick knowing that they were without food and water. That is the way you should be treated.
How can you live with yourself knowing that they are all dead? I don't understand people today. They think they are so cute and loving when they are little; then when they get old to you or anyone they forget about them.
I don't have a lot of money to take care of my babies, and I make sure they have their meds and the love and food and water they need to stay alive. You're a heartless person and I hope the court sees that. You deserve to be punished to the full extent of the law.
This is no worse then killing a human. When are people going to realize that these little creatures of God deserve to be treated the same way as you would your friends, family, kids? Once again I hope you pay.

to store
TO THE EDITOR: Today, during my lunchtime, I went to pick up a few groceries. As I was checking out, I made a request of the bagger that none of the bags could be heavier than the half gallon of milk that had just been given to her. She was very courteous, smiled and said that was no problem.
It occurred to me then how appreciative I was of the Yandow family for taking over this store in Skyway Plaza. I live in Cliff Haven and had done my shopping at the previous Grand Union and had been sad to lose it.
It has been about 10 years since Yandow's opened, and I am very grateful. The base had recently closed, and I am sure they wondered if they could make a decent profit here. But they took the chance.
This family and their employees are always very courteous and helpful. There have been many improvements over the years. (The new freezer cases are very nice!) I truly enjoy shopping there; it is homey and friendly, and just the right size for me.
Thank you, Yandow family, and all of the businesses at Skyway for taking a chance on those of us who live at the south end of Plattsburgh. I'm sure I'm not the only one who appreciates you!
