Police investigating violent city attack

PLATTSBURGH -- Police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with a violent attack in the City of Plattsburgh early Wednesday.
An unidentified city resident was walking on George Angell Drive near Plattsburgh State around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday when he was attacked by two men.
The victim told police that two black males in their late teens or early 20s approached him near the west end of Towers Roadway and began assaulting him with a wooden object.
The man was struck several times and was knocked to the ground.
After the attack, police said, the two suspects ran toward Rugar Street and got into a light-blue vehicle.
One of the suspects was wearing light-blue pants and a light-blue hooded sweatshirt, while the second one was wearing dark-blue sweatpants and a black hooded sweatshirt.
Both are described as about 6 feet tall.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries after the attack.
City Police said the department is actively investigating the assault. Anyone with information is asked to call 563-3411.
Plattsburgh State University Police issued a warning to students and staff about the attack because it took place near campus.
