PLATTSBURGH — Dennies Krecko recorded a triple-double Saturday and the Clinton Community College men’s basketball team won its third game in a row with a high-scoring 105-92 victory over Onondaga Community College.
The 6-foot-9 Krecko finished with 16 points, 18 rebounds, 10 assists and five blocks as the Cougars improved to 5-4 overall.
Chris Miller poured in 26 points for Clinton, while Kyree Hull chipped in with 13 points and seven assists. Stefan Radan had 12 points, Matt Spencer added 10 points and Jamie Davison handed out 10 assists.
“Onondaga has scored over 100 points in four games this season,” Clinton coach Kevin Daugherty said. “We tried to control the tempo of the game.
“We’re playing real well right now, and I’ve been most impressed with how well we’re passing the ball.”
David Haye tossed in 27 points for the Lazers, while Adam Misener added 12 and Vaughndell Brantley, 10. Haye and Misener combined to hit nine 3-pointers.
The Cougars bolted out to a 52-29 halftime lead.
“We did a good job limiting their shots in the first half,” Daugherty said. “And Onondaga, because of our passing and shooting (42-of-78 from the field), had a tough time stopping us all game.
“But I give them credit — they came back to cut it to seven points with 1:30 left in the game. But Radan went 4-for-4 from the foul line, and Miller hit a big bucket for us.”
The Cougars will look to make it four wins in a row when they travel to Adirondack Community College on Tuesday.
