Roger Quinn, 20, of Dannemora, signs with the St. Louis Cardinals after spending 3 years in the Army. He is assigned to New Iberia, La. in Class C baseball.

The Rouses Point Golf Club gets off to one of its earliest starts with Walt Powers returning as club pro and manager. Mr. and Mrs. Clint Englee are also back in charge of the clubhouse.

Ellsworth Waters, formerly of 62 Broad St., Plattsburgh, is honored by St. Lawrence University as a standout in football, basketball and wrestling.
Army Corporal Jack Carrigan of Dannemora scores a 51-second knockout of Albany’s Joe Rovelle in boxing at Fort Totten on Long Island. Rovelle is remembered as having fought at Plattsburgh Barracks against Nick Coons and Frankie DeCarlo.
