Ogdensburg, Chateaugay in CYO title game

MALONE — The Ogdensburg Boys & Girls Club continued its quest for another league championship, while Chateaugay defeated the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds to advance to the title game in the Franklin CYO Basketball League playoffs.

Ogdensburg 50, Bangor 44

Upset-minded Bangor held a 35-32 advantage after three quarters.

But unbeaten Ogdensburg, playing without Konnor Murdock and finding itself in a rare position, went on an 18-11 run in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Daniel Moulton led the winners with 12 points and nine rebounds, while David Tomford recorded a double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds. Dillon Binion played a strong floor game with nine points, six assists and seven steals, while John Morrison added eight points. Ryan Petell tallied all seven of his points in the fourth quarter.

Bangor was paced by Dan Sanchez with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Devan Monette finished with 10 points. Ryan Jaques was all over the place with eight points, four assists and five steals.

Chateaugay 43, PAPAS Dairy 31

Chateaugay entered the playoffs as the lowest seed, but has recorded back-to-back wins to move into the title contest.

Josh Juntunen led the way for Chateaugay with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds. Cory LaFountain helped out with 10 points and seven steals.

PAPAS Dairy was paced by A.J. Secore with 10 points and Nick Lamica with nine.
