CVBL wraps up regular season today

PLATTSBURGH — The Champlain Valley Baseball League finishes its regular season today and the regular season championship is not on the line.

The Lyon Mountain Miners (10-2) took care of that last weekend and what’s left is some jockeying for playoff positions.

The Miners look to finish with a 12-2 mark if they can get two wins at home today over the Peabody’s Padres (5-8), who need to have a good day to try and move out of the fifth position in the standings.

Meanwhile, the Meron’s Expos (7-5) are currently alone in second place and can earn a bye in the opening round of the playoffs with a couple of victories over the Fourth Ward A’s (6-7), who sit in fourth place.

Elsewhere, the third-place Fourth Ward Cardinals (7-6) will play one game against the Fourth Ward Timberjaxx (3-10). The Cardinals still have a chance to wind up second if they win today and the Expos struggle against the A’s.
