CVBL hoping weather cooperates

PLATTSBURGH — If the weather cooperates today, the Champlain Valley Baseball League can get back to action.

The league had its three scheduled games rained out last Sunday in Lyon Mountain and the only teams to have played the last two weeks are the Fourth Ward A’s and Peabody’s Padres, who opposed one another in two make-up games during that time, including a 4-all tie on Wednesday.

The first-place Lyon Mountain Miners (8-2) are home today at the Big Ball Diamond for a noon doubleheader versus the Padres (4-5-1).

Elsewhere, Meron’s Expos (5-5) host the A’s (4-5-1) for two in South Acres, while the Fourth Ward Cardinals (5-5) take on the Fourth Ward Timberjaxx (3-7) at Lefty Wilson Field to complete the schedule.
