CHAZY — Two juveniles were charged in connection with sale and possession of prescription drugs.

The one-time incident was reported Tuesday to officials at Chazy Central School by a parent, Chazy-based State Police said.

A 13-year-old male student and a 14-year-old male student were arrested that afternoon.

The 13-year-old had allegedly brought some medication prescribed to him to school and given some of it to the 14-year-old, police said.

The younger juvenile was charged with fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony. The older youth was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Both children were released on appearance tickets, police said.

LAKE PLACID — A Lake Placid woman was arrested on felony forgery charges Friday.

Aimee C. Liberty, 32, allegedly stole a check that was later cashed, according to a Lake Placid Police Department press release. Liberty had an active bench warrant in the Town of Plattsburgh for a separate larceny charge, police said in the release. State Police were notified of Liberty’s arrest.

Liberty was charged with second-degree forgery, a felony; second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor; and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.

She was arraigned and sent to Essex County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or bond, according to the release.

BURKE — A Malone woman was injured in a one-car accident Dec. 10.

Candace M. Allen, 44, told police she was driving east on County Route 36 near Montgomery Road in the Town of Burke shortly before 6:25 p.m. when she slowed for a separate accident, Malone-based State Police said.

Allen didn’t see a low-hanging cable wire and her vehicle caught on the wire, pulling it until the utility pole it was attached to broke, police said. When the pole struck Allen’s vehicle, she accelerated to avoid getting electrocuted, police said.

This action pulled a second utility pole onto her car, police said.

Allen was transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center where she was treated and released for minor injuries, police said.

She was ticketed for driving an uninspected vehicle.
