NSLPERU 3, SARANAC 2

PERU — The Chiefs’ Austin Myers broke a scoreless tie to start the second half, but three unanswered goals by Ethan Brown gave the Indians the victory.

Myers found the back of the net with 3:53 gone in the second half to give Saranac a 1-0 lead.

Brown then scored three straight goals for Peru. Peter Daly, Jacob Dick and Kainan Provost supplied the assists.

“I thought our boys played an unselfish, team-based game passing the ball,” Peru coach Matt Armstrong said. “Saranac did a good job defending our attacks deep in their zone, led by midfielder Aaron Cross.”

After the Indians took a 3-1 lead, Myers scored again with six minutes remaining to bring the Chiefs within one. Brian Menia collected the assist.

Guy Loveless secured the win in net with four saves. Jarrett Wright made six saves in the loss.
