Ogdensburg Boys and Girls lone unbeaten

MALONE — The Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club (8-0) rolled to a 76-37 victory over North Star (9-1) in a battle of unbeatens this past weekend in the Franklin CYO Basketball League.

In other games, it was Bangor with a 63-20 win over Chateaugay; North Star with a 61-45 decision over PAPAS Dairy; and St. John Bosco a 50-46 decision over Maranatha.

Bangor 63, Chateaugay 20

Devan Monette led Bangor with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Danny Sanchez added 15 points. Josh Juntunen paced Chateaugay with eight points.

North Star 61, PAPAS Dairy 45

Mike LaVoie led North Star with 17 points, followed by Jared Webb with 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Alex Shackett, 11 points. Isai Paradones chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds. PAPAS Dairy was paced by Justin Preve with 14 points, Adam Beane with 12, and Tyrek Snead a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, to go along with eight steals.

St. John Bosco 50,

Maranatha 46

Maranatha held leads of 17-7 and 38-29, but were outscored by a 21-8 margin in the fourth quarter. St. John Bosco was led by Corey LaMere, with a season-high 38 points, including a long three at the end of regulation. John Armstrong pulled down 11 rebounds. Maranatha was paced by Tony DeStefano with 16 points, while Ben Haug scored 15 points and hauled in 26 rebounds.

Ogdensburg 76, North Star 37

Konnor Murdock scored 17 of his game-high 21 points in the second half for Ogdensburg. Dave Tomford netted four 3-pointers on the way to 17 points, Rudy Binion tallied 13 points and Ryan Petell added 12. Alex Shackett tossed in 11 points and Jared Webb nine for North Star.

Ogdensburg’s press resulted in a 23-6 run in the third quarter.
