Police Log: Feb. 3, 2013


PLATTSBURGH — A Peru man was charged with robbery and attempted assault Friday after he allegedly stole the shoes off another man’s feet, police said.

The crime was reported at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Plattsburgh City Police said.

Austin Haynes, 19, was allegedly arguing about money with another 19-year-old male on Elm Street in the City of Plattsburgh when Haynes forcibly removed the victim’s Nike Air Jordan sneakers, police said.

The shoes are valued at about $110, police said.

Haynes was charged with third-degree robbery, a felony, and third-degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court Friday night, police said.

Haynes was taken to the Clinton County Jail where he posted $5,000 cash bail Saturday morning, according to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.

His next court date was not available Saturday.

PLATTSBURGH — A Keeseville man was arrested Thursday for allegedly causing $350 in damage to a vehicle.

Shortly before 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Timothy J. Robare, 23, was allegedly asked to leave Pizza Bono on Margaret Street in downtown Plattsburgh, said Lt. Scott Beebie of the Plattsburgh City Police.

Robare was allegedly upset and kicked the side mirror of a parked 2004 Subaru Legacy, removing the mirror from the vehicle, Beebie said.

He then entered Peabody’s bar on Clinton Street where City Police Officers found him with the help of Peabody’s employees and placed him in custody, Beebie said.

Robare was taken to CVPH Medical Center that morning for medical evaluation, he said.

Robare was released from CVPH and turned himself in to police Thursday, Beebie said.

He was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony.

Robare was not listed as being incarcerated in the Clinton County Jail as of Saturday afternoon.

His next court date was not available Saturday.

PLATTSBURGH — A West Chazy man was arrested on grand larceny charges.
