Bobcats capture Livermore Invitational in tie-breaker

(Continued)

ELLENBURG —

Seymour was the only Peru wrestler to place.

Jordan Bushey went 3-2 at 138, Noah Phillips 3-2 at 145, Nick Forget at 126, and Luke McKee 2-2 at 220.

Peru’s Ethan Feazelle (106), Kyler Agoney (113), Tanner Phillips (132) and Caleb Feazelle (152) were eliminated on Friday. Brandon Goddeau (99) went 1-1 on Friday, but missed weight by a pound on Saturday.

“Our wrestlers really did wrestle well,” said Hogan. “These were the best kids they were going up against.

“We had six kids make it to today’s second round and that’s the most we’ve had since we’ve been coming here. It’s a meat grinder of a tournament and it’s a good opportunity for the kids to see where they measure up.

“Troy will learn from it and make the necessary adjustments. All our kids will learn from it and make the adjustments. It was no picnic down here.”

Peru has Champlain Valley Athletic Conference matches scheduled for this week against Beekmantown and then unbeaten Saranac.
