Your Town: Chateaugay

CHATEAUGAY — The Krebashia Kingdom Medieval Fantasy Faire will return to Chateaugay this summer.

The three-day event will kick off June 28 at the Chateaugay Recreation Park, offering an array of events, music and activities.

The Chateaugay Town Council recently approved use of the park for the Fantasy Faire, as well as the annual Easter Egg Hunt there March 30.

Several other matters were discussed at the recent Town Council meeting, including:

Fuel tank: Town Supervisor Donald Bilow discussed the possible removal and replacement of the Town Hall’s fuel tank. Officials are looking into several possibilities for the tank’s replacement and are also considering upgrading the current heating system.

Court audit: Bilow detailed his audit of the Justice Court financial records and reported that everything was in order. The audit was later approved by the council.

LaPlante Road concerns: Councilors heard from residents Paul and Sean English, who voiced concerns with the height of LaPlante Road. They requested the road be lowered so the driveway to one of their homes would be less steep and reduce roadway drainage problems on the property. Councilors discussed the issue and then denied the request.
