Organizations supported

DANNEMORA — The Dannemora Federal Credit Union (DFCU) employee-sponsored Jean Day has raised over $6,000 since May of 2012 in support of local organizations.

Since 2012, DFCU employees have come together to go casual for a cause on the last Friday of each month, each donating a minimum of $5 to dress down. The donations collected are donated to an organization or cause that has been selected for the month.

The Board of Directors then matches whatever funds are raised for the day. Organizations to receive Jean Day donations in the past include the North Country Caner Fund, Elmore SPCA, the Foundation of CVPH and Plattsburgh Noon Kiwanis

To be selected as a recipient, the organization must fall under one of the following charitable guidelines: Human assistance, community development, education or youth activities. Organizations are encouraged to apply at any time. Applications are available at any DFCU branch or by e-mailing

DFCU Branch Office locations are at 50 State Road, Dannemora; 344 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh; 122 New York Road, Plattsburgh; and 10 Elm St., Champlain.
