Peru Central to hold budget workshop

PERU — The Peru Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in the Junior/Senior High Community Room for its second budget workshop.

Agenda items include discussion on the Gap Elimination Adjustment, an update on budget stressors and an overview of the Budget Advisory Committee focus.

The meeting is open to the public.

Saranac Lake School Board sets special meeting

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake School Board will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in the High School Board Room.

An executive session will be held to discuss the medical, financial, credit or employment history of a particular person or corporation, or matters leading to the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal or removal of a particular person or corporation.

No other business will be addressed.

Board meetings are open to the public.

Clinton County Legislature to meet Wednesday

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Legislature will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Legislative Chambers of the Clinton County Government Center, 137 Margaret St., Plattsburgh.

Among the resolutions to be acted upon are: an appointment to the Clinton County Board of Health; one opposing the proposed closure of the Veterans Administration Clinic in Malone; and various contracts for Plattsburgh International Airport.

The meeting is open to the public.

NCCS reviewing superintendent applications

CHAMPLAIN — Northeastern Clinton Central School Board will held a special meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26.

This meeting is for the purpose of reviewing applications of candidates for superintendent.

The board will vote to go into executive session.

Complete Streets series to continue

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Complete Streets group will start its 2014 Complete Streets meetings with a session set for 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Town Hall, 151 Banker Road. 

This is an open public meeting for anyone interested in the town’s planning and advocacy efforts to work toward making its roads and streets safe for all users regardless of age, mobility or mode of transportation. 

Complete Streets concepts encourage the role of “active transportation” infrastructure and enhance sustainable economic, environmental and public-health aspects of the community.
