Complete listings of area events can be found in Thursday's Out & About section and in the Community Calendar, which appears every Friday in the Press-Republican, but here are the highlights of what is happening today:

Rouses Point Fourth of July celebration. Civic Center field. Live bands, food, carnival rides, games, vendors, activities. Rouses Point Fire Department will host a Car and Motorcycle Show at 9 a.m. at the Civic Center. Chicken barbecue for $8, noon, Rouses Point Fire Station. The 49th-annual parade will start at 6 p.m., with lineup at 4 p.m. in Delagar's parking lot on Lake Street, across from the Fire Station. Fireworks start at dusk.

Inisheer. 6 p.m. Little AuSable Park Gazebo, Route 22B, Peru. Celtic music. Bring chairs and blankets. Rain site: Peru Community Church Fellowship Center.

Billy Ray Cyrus. 7:30 p.m. Akwesasne Concert Grounds, Hogansburg. Tickets $40 grandstand, $25 general admission, available at Jacobs Tobacco, Frogtown Road, Hogansburg or by calling 358-9335.

"The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." 2 p.m., Pendragon Theatre, Saranac Lake. Adaptation of the L. Frank Baum story. $10 adults. $8 under 15. 891-1854.

"Round and Round the Garden." 2 and 8 p.m. Depot Theatre, Westport Train Station, Westport. Alan Ayckbourn's comedy about an assistant librarian who believes everyone has the right to happiness when it comes to women and proceeds to woo his sister-in-law, his brother-in-law's wife and finally, his own wife. Evening performances: $23 adults; $20 seniors and students; $14 under 12. Matinee: $21 adults; $18 seniors and students; $12 under 12. 962-4449.

Lake Placid I Love BBQ Festival. Olympic Speed-Skating Oval, Lake Placid. National grilling competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. Children's activities, cooking demonstrations by area chefs and barbecue team pit masters, music.
