Tolosky, Rascoe help All-Stars to two wins
PULASKI -- Jack Tolosky and Tanner Rascoe enjoyed big days on both the mound and at the plate Saturday as the Plattsburgh Little League 11-12 All-Stars rolled to two victories as part of the District No. 37 Little League Tournament.
Plattsburgh recorded a 12-0 win over host Pulaski in four innings and then an 11-1 victory over Sandy Creek in five innings, with both contests being called because of the mercy rule.
Rascoe struck out seven in getting the pitching win against Pulaski and rapped two home runs and a single at the plate.
Tolosky, versus Sandy Creek, struck out 13 in picking up the win and accounted for a single, triple, home run and six RBI at the dish.
Plattsburgh erupted for 11 runs in the first inning against Pulaski, with Rascoe getting a single and two-run homer in the first inning alone.
Brandon Buksa, Eric Bechard, Alex Racine and Tolosky also had hits in the inning, with Tolosky getting a double.
Plattsburgh received good defensive plays from Jonas Miller in center and Garrett Frady at second base.
Then, against Sandy Creek, Plattsburgh jumped in front with four runs in the first inning on bunt singles by Frady and Nick Dodd, and base hits by Tolosky and Miller.
Tolosky also added a two-run homer and then a two-run, walk-off triple that ended the game by the run rule.
Buksa contributed a double in the game, while Alexandra Betrus, Bechard and Zach Bingel all had singles.
The Plattsburgh 11-12 All-Stars will host Massena on Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.
