BROSSARD, Que. -- Tanner Lecuyer had a combined six hits and Cory Trombley five in two games Saturday as the Brockway Mechanical Senior Babe Ruth team swept a nonleague baseball doubleheader from the Brossard, Que. Cubs -- 14-0 and 12-1.
Trombley and Lecuyer rapped out three hits each in the opener, while Kyle Rascoe, Matt Drollette and Casey Letourneau all added two apiece, with Rascoe and Drollette getting doubles. Matt Brown and Kevin Neiderer also had base hits.
The Hitmen scored all their runs in the first two innings.
Tyler Mesec struck out six and allowed two hits in going the five innings for the pitching win.
In the second game, Lecuyer added two singles and a double, while Trombley tripled and homered in his first two at-bats of the game.
Mesec, Drollette and Letourneau chipped in two hits each, while Josh Chapman, Brown and Neiderer added one apiece.
Brockway Mechanical (5-3) jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning.
Nick Gero surrendered two hits and fanned six in pitching five innings for the win.
