Moriah Club sets Art Hughes tournament
PORT HENRY -- The Moriah Country Club will host the 17th-Annual Art Hughes Memorial Golf Tournament May 24-25. It will be a two-person best ball/scramble with flights determined after Saturday's play. There will be a shotgun start both days.
Entry fee is $55 for club members, or $75 for non-members. It includes a practice round on Friday, May 23, continental breakfast both days and a dinner and D.J. following play Saturday. Cash prizes will be offered in all flights.
Applications have been sent to area courses or are available by calling the Moriah Country Club, at 546-9979. No telephone applications will be accepted. Send check or money order to Moriah Country Club, P.O. Box 193, Port Henry 12974.
Lake Placid tourney slated for June 7
LAKE PLACID -- The Lake Placid High School Athletic Department Golf Tournament, a four-person scramble, will be held Saturday, June 7 at Craig Wood Golf Course. Men and women are cordially invited to play.
Tee times will begin at 7 a.m. Entry fees are $25 for Craig Wood members and $40 for non-members. The entry fee includes greens fee, prizes, and a post-event cookout . To make a tee time for your foursome, call 523-9811.
The event is the senior class project for Aimee Caligiore, Class of 2008. All proceeds will benefit LPHS Athletics.
Among the prizes will be complimentary greens fees from many area golf courses. Other prizes include Yankees and Mets baseball tickets, certificates for auto services and dining.

Barracks senior golf league tee times set
PLATTSBURGH -- The Senior Council Golf League announces tee times for May 13 at the Barracks Golf Course. Golfers are asked to report 30 minutes prior to the tee time.
Jackie Walker will coordinate scoring at the conclusion of the 9-hole match. Team sign-up sheets and next week tee times will be posted at the Barracks.
