The Saranac Chiefs captured four weight classes enroute to a championship finish in the Jason Lowell Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
Jake Nolan, Jon Devins, Rafael Rivera and Cody Gillette all finished first to lead the Chiefs, who piled up 237 points. Bellows Falls, Vt. finished second with Northern Adirondack, third, and Mount Mansfield, fourth.
Nolan went 2-0 with a fall in the finals against NAC’s Jace Fillion. Devins also was 2-0 with a 13-7 decision over Mount Mansfield’s Daniel Bliss in the final.
Gillette finished 4-0, edging Mill River’s Zack Allen 3-2 in the title match. Gillette went on to earn Most Outstanding Wrestler for the tournament.
Rivera also was 4-0, beating Mansfield’s Bryce Bernadine 2-0 in the final.
Brandon Yip, 3-1, came in second after bowing to Austin Viens from Bellows Falls 7-1.
Five Saranac wrestlers placed third: Shawn LaGraves 3-1 at 120, Will Marcil, 3-1 at 145, James Black, 4-1 at 152, Bendan Duprey, 2-1 at 220, and Tony Bushey, 2-1 at 285.
Morgan Sholtis, Michael Charland, Cody Plumadore, Chad Brooks, Chad Canning, Sean Ahern, Trey Plummer and Colby Staley all finished fourth.
Saranac faces a big dual match on Tuesday in Peru.
