Averaging eight goals per game in the early going, the Beekmantown boys’ hockey team continued its relentless offensive attack Monday.
The Eagles (3-0, 1-0) received balance scoring in their 7-1 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference defeat of Saranac at the Stafford Ice Arena.
Beekmantown scored three times in the first period, then twice in the second and third period.
Kyle Bisonette and reigning Section VII scoring champion Nate Foster each registered a hat-trick performance. Ryan Waterbury also accounted for a tally in the six-goal win.
Kyle Constanty picked up assists on each of Bisonette’s goals for a three-point night.
Waterbury opened scoring at 5:01 of the first period with the assist credited to Josh Barriere.
Bisontte extended the Eagles’ lead to 2-0 at the 13:11 mark. Foster concluded first-period scoring at 14:33 on an assist from Matt LaClair.
Foster scored the second of his three goals unassisted at 1:41, and Bisonette made it 5-0 with just 1:27 remaining in the middle stanza.
Foster scored his hat-trick goal with 1:23 gone in the third, accounting for his second unassisted tally. Bisonette reached the three-goal mark just 1:31 later.
Kevin Fisher scored the Chiefs’ (0-3-1, 0-1-1) lone goal with 3:37 showing on the clock. The assist was credited to Alex Fisher.
Dustin Plumadore was credited with the win in net, playing nearly 33 minutes in the tilt. The senior stopped all 11 shots faced.
Cole Harvey (2) and Keller Kowalowski (3) combined to make five saves inside the final 12 minutes of play.
Jeffrey Smith had a busy night in net for the Chiefs, fending off 52 shots in all.
Beekmantown will be participating in the Grandstanders Tournament Friday and Saturday.
The Eagles will face Queensbury at 5:30 p.m. Friday and Glens Falls/Hudson Falls/South Glens Falls at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Saranac will play host to Tupper Lake of Section X in a nonleague contest at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
