Beekmantown wrestling rolls past Patriots

BEEKMANTOWN — With the sectional tournament in sight, the Beekmantown wrestling team put on a dominating performance in a 61-12 win over AuSable Valley in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action Monday.

On Senior Night, the Eagles recognized Justin Steady, Ryan Turner, Brandon Defayette and Jon Graziane prior to the start of the match.

Anthony Cartee (113) and Brandon Defayette (220) made quick work of their opponents, finishing both matches in the first period. Jon Graziane (138) and Dylan Peryea (170) each collected technical falls.

“All kids wrestled tough,” Eagles coach Len Gadway said. “Now, it’s time to get ready for sectionals on Saturday.”
