Kristen Blair, Elyse LaFountain and Jamie Coupal score goals while Kristin Fillion records 4 saves for the shutout as the Clinton Community College women complete the school’s first undefeated season in soccer, beating SUNY Canton 4-0 to improve to 17-0-0.

Eddie Bevins and Jesse Berube finish 1-2 as Ticonderoga edges PHS 26-29 in cross country.

Kaylen Fessette scores a 9.6 on the balance beam to lead Beekmantown past Ticonderoga in gymnastics.

Chazy’s Jeff Krywanczyk sets a state record for career shutouts in boys’ soccer with his 58th in 5-0 win over Crown Point.

Sophomore Gena Rosenbaum establishes school records for goals (17) and points (38) in a season and career assists (11) in Plattsburgh State’s 5-1 win over Fredonia in women’s soccer.

Brad Cringle runs for 291 yards and accounts for all of Saranac’s points in a 27-13 victory over AuSable Valley.

Jason Remillard rushes for 204 yards as Peru beats Beekmantown 48-20 for its 29th consecutive victory in conference play.

20 YEARS AGO (1993)

Former MAI standout Todd LaValley finishes with a 4-4 record and a 3.96 earned-run average pitching for the Duluth-Superior Dukes of the Northern League.

Karen Mero and Jody Bigalow score goals as unbeaten Crown Point downs Chazy 2-0 to improve to 7-0.

Sam Godfrey carries 18 times for 169 yards to go over 1,100 for the season in Peru’s 31-0 triumph over PHS.

Two-way standout Ed Tromblee goes down with an ankle injury midway through the third quarter; however, Moriah rallies to beat AuSable Valley 8-3. Freshman quarterback Jason Carson tosses an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Sargent on fourth down and Chris Huchro runs for 130 yards.

25 YEARS AGO (1988)

Chad Lawrence, Mike Davis, Tom Dumont and Peter Price lead Malone to a first-place finish in a 50-team field at the Fayetteville-Manlius cross-country invitational.

David Pratt scores on a 3-yard run and Bill Larrow adds the point after, lifting unbeaten Moriah to a 7-6 win over Beekmantown.

Millie Bush scores 4 goals and Lisa Dimock gets the shutout in Clinton CC’s 4-0 win over Cazenovia.

Stephanie McFalls, Amanda Wells and Stacey Buhr score goals in Plattsburgh High’s 3-0 upset of Northern Adirondack in girls’ soccer.

Mari Beth McLane, Debbie Frenyea, Mary Rickson and Maureen McGrath score goals to lead MAI past previously unbeaten Peru 4-0.

30 YEARS AGO (1983)

Tom Daly scores from 51 yards away with 1:33 to play, lifting Peru to a 13-6 come-from-behind victory over PHS. George Harrington hooks up with Tracy Rotz for the other Peru score while Jaspar Hardy scores for PHS on a 4-yard run.

Walt Worth scores 5 goals in the first half to spur Crown Point to a 7-2 victory over Westport. Todd Malone and Chris Buckland also score while Jeff Schwobel accounts for both Westport scores.

Fred Granger runs for 167 yards and a 29-yard touchdown and Darrin Rathbun adds the two-point conversion in Ticonderoga’s 8-6 win over Moriah. Chris Mazzotte runs for 126 yards and Todd Gregory scores on a 2-yard run for the Vikings.

Ruthie Decker scores twice as AuSable Valley tops Beekmantown to wrap up its sixth straight division title in girls’ soccer.

Rick Demarse scores 2 goals and Roger Wilcox records his fourth shutout in Chateaugay’s 3-0 win over Lisbon.

Anne Kurtz scores with one minute to play, giving Elizabethtown-Lewis a 3-2 victory over Crown Point. Becky Aubin adds 2 goals for the Lions wile Shyra Gayton and Dawn Malone score for the Panthers.

Bob Pfohler catches a 23-yard touchdown pass and returns an interception 55 yards for another score in Saranac’s 23-16 come-from-behind triumph over MAI.

40 YEARS AGO (1973)

Wes Whitney taps in Mike LeClair’s rebound to lift Keene to a 2-1 victory over previously unbeaten Westport. Greg Pelkey gets the other Beavers’ goal while Don LaRock scores for the Eagles.

Pete Proctor and Scott Hopkins score on short runs to give Beekmantown a 13-6 triumph over PHS. Keith Cressey scores on a 24-yard run for the Hornets.

Randy Barcomb, Kris Cote, George Poissant and James Riley score goals as Chazy regains the CVL soccer lead with a 4-2 win over Peru. Dennis Curtin and David Moore score for Peru.

Dave Daniels leads the way as Beekmantown edges PHS 21-26 in the first cross-country meet for the two schools.

50 YEARS AGO (1963)

Dave Lamora scores on runs of 23 and 20 yards to spark PHS to a 27-13 win over Moriah. Dick Thiesen and Dennis Raymond score for the Vikings.

Butch Thomas tallies 3 times as Elizabethtown-Lewis downs Crown Point 5-0 to remain unbeaten in soccer. Warren White and David Denton also score.

Ralph Manners and Wayne Lutkenhaus lead the way as Plattsburgh State gets off to a 3-0 start in cross country.

Mike Cooper scores with 2 seconds left to lift unbeaten Dannemora to a 3-2 victory over Ellenburg in CVL soccer. Tom King gets 2 goals for the Black Knights while J. Decosse scores for the Eagles.

Jeff Gebo scores a touchdown and adds the PAT as OLVA edges St. John’s 7-6 for its 10th consecutive victory. Harry Canning scores for the Irish.

60 YEARS AGO (1953)

Port Henry, behind Billy Loes, defeats Mineville and Johnny Podres, 2-0, in an exhibition baseball game at Grover Hills Athletic Field featuring the two Brooklyn Dodgers pitchers. Loes, who strikes out 17 and walks three, contributes an RBI double while Podres, who fans 11 with 3 walks, is victimized by 3 Mineville errors. Each pitcher allows 4 hits.

Loren Bullis of Westport is elected president of the Section VII Sports Council. Howard Page of Lake Placid is elected secretary and Kenneth Housner of Port Henry the treasurer.

Bob Jessey and Don Rabideau each score 2 goals with Tom Giroux, Harry Merrill and Chuck McGee adding one apiece to lead Peru to a 15-2 win over Morrisonville in soccer. Bob Ledwith adds a point on a penalty kick. Davis scores for Morrisonville.

Hal LaBarge’s goal and penalty kick give Altona 3-2 victory over Ellenburg. Whalen scores for Ellenburg.

70 YEARS AGO (1943)

Joe Papa and Stanley Garrow score touchdowns and Darrell Hobbs comes up with a big interception to lead PHS past St. John’s 13-6. Donald O’Hara scores for the Green and White.

Gates and Salerno score touchdown while Fleet makes a key interception and drop-kicks 2 extra points in Port Henry’s 13-6 win over MAI.

Tip Hayes is elected president of the sanctioned bowlers in Plattsburgh with Leo Nash chosen as vice president. Tom Mead is the treasurer and Harry Frazier, the secretary.
