Beekmantown, AuSable Valley share CVAC volleyball title

BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown girls’ volleyball team grabbed its share of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference title Friday night with a 3-0 sweep of Peru.

The Eagles, who won by game scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-21, and AuSable Valley were crowned co-champions in the league.

Leading Beekmantown were Shannon Ryan with 12 kills and seven digs, Michaela Lafountain with seven points, 25 assists and nine digs, Grace Kelly eight points, seven kills and seven digs, Jordynne Ales 10 points and 21 digs, Mikaela Frechette nine kills and 13 digs, and Emily Anderson, 11 points and eight aces.

“Our serve receive and digging game was our strength this evening,” Beekmantown coach Shana Hileman said. “Our seniors led team in digs and perfect serve receive passes. This allowed our offensive players to be on the attack at the net.

“All 15 players contributed to the Senior Night game victory. It was a nice way to end our league games and now we shift our focus to post-season play.”

Peru was led by Lea Perry with five digs and nine assists, Maddie Kaplan with eight points, and Taylor Higgins, six kills and five digs.
