Family fun from noon to 4 p.m. includes hayrides, a pumpkin patch visit, pumpkin- and face-painting, a haunted house, games and food. The fun takes on a scarier tone 6 to 9 p.m. with haunted hayrides and a haunted house. Cost is $5 per person or $20 per family. 

Country Dreams Farm hosts Halloween event

PLATTSBURGH — Country Dreams Farm is holding an “aMAZEing halloWINE” Halloween event 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

Many activities that day on the working farm are free, including horse-drawn wagon rides, a petting zoo, a kids play area and a bonfire after dark with s’mores and ghost stories told by Gordie Little. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to come dressed in costume. 

Admission of $15 includes wine tasting in the corn maze, 5 to 9 p.m.; family friendly corn maze, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and a barbecue chicken dinner. A farmers market will also be selling goods.

Fright Night planned at Mooers Free Library

MOOERS — Mooers Free Library will host Fright Night, a Halloween celebration, 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

Attendees can wear Halloween costumes, play games, participate in a scavenger hunt and receive free candy. This event is free.

Prizes will be awarded for the best costume based in four age groups. Food will be available. 

Sarnac Lake Library to hold Halloween Party

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Free Library will hold a Story Time Halloween Party 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at the library, 109 Main St.

The program will include seasonal stories and festive treats. Children may come in costume. All preschoolers are invited to attend. Call 891-4190 for more information.

Host families sought for foreign-exchange students

PLATTSBURGH — International Fellowship, a nonprofit exchange student program in business for 60 years, is looking for volunteer families or individuals to host foreign exchange students. The high-school students from abroad will be here for a full academic year or for a semester. Students have their own spending money and are covered by health and accident insurance.
