POWER OUTAGE

PLATTSBURGH — Residents in the Palmer Street area in the City of Plattsburgh spent some time without power Friday evening.

The call dispatching crews to fix the outage came at about 6:35 p.m. and power was restored about two hours later, according to the Municipal Lighting Department.

The power failure affected Bailey Avenue, Montcalm Street and Palmer Street in the City of Plattsburgh, according to the Municipal Lighting Department.

FELONY ARRESTS

MALONE — A Tupper Lake woman was charged Jan. 12 with introducing prison contraband.

Tiffany M. Mecklenburg, 23, was arrested at the State Police barracks in Malone and was charged with first-degree introducing dangerous prison contraband, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, according to a State Police blotter entry.

The incident was reported to State Police at about 6 p.m. Jan. 11, according to the blotter entry.

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was charged Dec. 18, 2013 with grand larceny.

Between Sept. 8, 2013 and Dec. 16, 2013, Tanah M. Barber, 21, an employee of Gander Mountain in Champlain Centre mall in the Town of Plattsburgh, stole money from a cash register there, State Police said. Barber also stole assorted merchandise from the store, State Police said.

The cash and merchandise is valued at $1,097.24, police said.

She was arrested at the mall, according to a State Police blotter entry, and was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Barber was released on a court appearance ticket, police said.
