Cardinals Care Event set for Tuesday against Keene State

PLATTSBURGH — Before and during its 7 p.m. home game against Keene State on Tuesday night, the Plattsburgh State men’s basketball team will be accepting donations of personal care items from fans as part of the Cardinals Care initiative.

Fans that bring personal care items, such as shampoo, deodorant, soap and other hygiene products, to the door will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of four prizes during the game. Cash donations will also be accepted.

All of the items and proceeds raised will be given to the Plattsburgh bureau of the Joint Council for Economic Opportunity where they will be distributed back into the Plattsburgh community.

Algonquin Chapter to hold annual holiday supper

WEST PLATTSBURGH — On Friday, December 6, the public is invited to join the Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club for its annual Holiday Potluck Supper at the Conservation Building at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. The supper begins at 5:30 p.m. Bring your own place setting, dessert or dish to share. Coffee, tea and other beverages will be provided.

Algonquin Chapter to hold annual trail clearing

PLATTSBURGH — On Tuesday, December 10, the public is invited to join the Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club for their annual “Pick up Stix” trail clearing. Explore the Clinton State Forest Trails on Rand Hill on foot or snowshoes, depending on conditions. This is considered moderate difficulty at an easy pace. Bring lunch and a beverage.
