---- — Workshop to look at underage drinking
PLATTSBURGH — “Start Talking Before They Start Drinking,” a conversational and interactive workshop for parents and youth, will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Stafford Middle School on Broad Street.
The free workshop will focus on prevention, awareness and education in regards to underage drinking. It is open to Clinton County youth in grades six through eight and their parents or guardians. There will be coffee and dessert as well as giveaways.

Library story time set for Tuesday
KEESEVILLE — Keeseville Free Library, 1721 Front St., will host story time at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16.
The theme is “April Showers Bring May Flowers.”

LAKE PLACID — The Essex County Sheriff’s Department is holding a child safety-seat check from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at the Lake Placid EMS Building, 398 Mill Pond Drive.
The Child Passenger Safety Program is sponsored by the governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Lodge of Elks will host its first-ever Youth Activity Day from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at its 56 Cumberland Ave. location.
Children and their parents are invited to drop by to take part in fire-safety training, drug-awareness programs, a kids’ room and open bowling. Hot dogs will also be provided. The event is free and will occur rain or shine.
