Ticonderoga boys claim Alzheimer's Awareness tourney

PORT HENRY — Good guard play and a 17-point night from junior standout Michael Graney helped Ticonderoga to a 48-36 win in the Alzheimer’s Awareness tournament championship in boys’ basketball Friday.

The Sentinels jumped out to a 10-point lead at halftime and the Vikings were able to close the gap to a four-point margin with just under three minutes remaining in the final stanza.

But a couple of loose balls and Graney’s ability to hit shots late proved to be the difference-maker.

Tyler Pratt and freshman center Adam Jaquish were the high-point scorers for Moriah, adding 10 markers, respectively.
