---- — PLATTSBURGH — Shirley L. (Guimond) Marker, 77, formerly of Ohio, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh. She was born in Plattsburgh, March 10, 1935, the daughter of Leo and Lena (Bell) Guimond.

Shirley grew up in Plattsburgh. As a young woman, her future husband Dennis Marker, was serving locally with the United States Air Force. Fate paired them, and their lifelong love began. When he retired, they made their home in Ohio for 50 years. Following his passing, as her health declined, she moved to Keeseville and was cared for by her brother and sister-in-law. She was a lifelong lover of animals of many different types.

Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Linda Guimond of Keeseville, and Gerald and Dorothy Guimond of Saranac; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Dennis Marker; and an infant sister, Carol Guimond.

There will be no public calling hours or services. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
