CHAMPLAIN — A Montreal man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly violating sex offender registry requirements.

Pellegrino Giovanni Fiore III, 37, was deported from Canada and was taken into custody by Clinton County Sheriff’s Deputies and the United States Marshal Service at the Champlain port of entry, according to a press release from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.

The United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania had issued an arrest warrant alleging that he left Pennsylvania and was living in Montreal without abiding by the requirements he is held to as a registered sex offender in Pennsylvania, the Sheriff’s Department said.

Fiore was taken to the Rensselaer County Jail to appear in United States District Court at a later date.

PLATTSBURGH — A Peru man was injured in a two-car accident Thursday.

Shortly before 11:22 a.m., Micah Dromgoole, 17, of Peru was driving west on Kent Falls Road in the Town of Plattsburgh when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the eastbound lane of traffic and struck a snow embankment, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, the Sheriff’s Department said, and Dromgoole was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh after complaining of minor pain.

His passenger, William Blanchard, 20, of Plattsburgh declined medical treatment at the accident site, the release said.

Dromgoole was ticketed for failure to keep right.
